Third Vice President

Ed is a lifelong community member of Brick. Having attended Midstreams Elementary, Veteran’s Memorial Middle School, and Brick Memorial High School, Ed has cherished routes in the Brick school system and is happy to have continued to remain a Brick Schools professional.

After graduating from Brick Memorial High School in 1993, Mr. Sarluca then attended and graduated from Elon University.  From there, he began his career as a Physical Education teacher and coach in Barnegat.  After one year, he was hired by Brick Township.  His first years in Brick, he taught at Veteran’s Memorial and Middle School while coaching football, basketball and softball at Brick Memorial.  He later moved up to teach at BMHS when he was named the head Basketball Coach.

While coaching the football and basketball teams, Mr. Sarluca took great pride in building strong community and alumni ties.  The programs saw their most successful years while he was on staff, and he eventually became the school’s all time leader in basketball wins, winning three divisional championships and Coach of the Year twice.  He also served on the Shore Conference and State Tournament committees as the most tenured coach in the division.

In 2009, Mr. Sarluca graduated from the University of Scranton and received his Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration. In 2014, Mr. Sarluca was named Athletic Director of Brick Memorial High School.  Since then, he has seen the Mustang Athletic programs continue to succeed while pridefully increasing his responsibilities throughout the Shore Conference and State of New Jersey.

Mr. Sarluca is happily married to his wife of 16 years, Maureen, and has been blessed with four beautiful children; Ella, Cara, Michael, and Joseph.
